  • Thaila completed a major refit after arriving at our Yard earlier this year.

Major engineering work included a complete strip out of all machinery and services in the engine room.

  • The main Cat engine was removed for a full rebuild. New Northern Lights Generators have been fitted back into a well appointed engine room. All captive winches have been removed from the vessel, fully serviced and refitted into newly painted lockers.

  • The teak decks were sanded down and fully recaulked. The teak on the bulwarks was  high pressure blasted off exposing the bare steel which  was treated faired and painted. The hull was highbuilded, faired and fully repainted in a darker majestic blue with cream bulwarks and cream cove stripes. The transom sign replaced with gold leaf and a new gold code stripe added.

  • The full interior was sanded and varnished with the areas around the portholes painted white and fitted with T&G panels. Work included refurbishing the main salon, building a new bar and TV area in the lower salon.

  • Both main mast and mizzen mast were removed from the vessel for full service including new rod rigging. She was also fitted with membrane panel sail controls and a range of updated electronic components plus an all-new state-of-the-art AV system throughout the yacht.

Here we see the artist Verne Newlove signing the 'Thalia' name, useing the traditional skills of applying 22k gold plated lettering.
