OPERATING PROCEDURES OF HARDSTAND

Yard operation rules

  • DO NOT REPOSITION OR ADJUST ACROPROPS – Orams yard staff must be contacted to do this.
  • ALL accounts for haulage, storage and services are to be paid in full prior to the vessel being re-launched or leaving the yard. Red “Authorisation for launching” card will be issued on receipt of full payment and are to be handed to the travel hoist operator before launching.
  • Orams retains the right to re-locate the vessel within the yard if needed for the continued efficient operation of the yard.
  • NO sandblasting, steel grinding, spray painting or hot work to be undertaken without written authority obtained from yard manager.
  • NO dry sanding of antifoul. Wet sanding only.
  • All incidents, injuries and hazards shall be reported directly to the yard manager.
  • Compliance with the Health & safety in employment act 1992, relevant occupational health and safety codes and other relevant legislation, is the sole responsibility of persons working in the yard. Orams will provide safety advice for any task on request.
  • All persons must wear appropriate clothing, footwear and protective equipment while on site.
  • NO discharging of black water, bilge water, used oil, fuels, paint, thinners or similar products on to the hardstand or into the yard drainage system. Please see hoist operator for waste tank locations.
  • All pollution incidents must be reported immediately to Orams personnel. All costs incurred will be borne by the vessel owner.
  • It is the owners responsibility to understand the obligations and requirements in regards safe connection to shore power. If unsure ask Orams personnel for assistance.
  • All power tools, extension leads, or an y other electrical device must be tested, certified and tagged per the Electricity Act 1992.
  • It is the owners responsibility to ensure ladders, stands working platforms and related equipment provided are properly seated, stabilized and only used for the purpose they are designed for.
  • NO person is to live on board the vessel unless approved by the yard manager.
  • NO smoking on site
  • NO people under the influence of alcohol or drugs are permitted on site
  • NO disorderly conduct, threatening or abusive behavior will be permitted on site.
  • Remove all rubbish and clean up your hardstand site at the end of each day and before relaunching.
  • All common areas are to be kept clear of equipment and debris.
  • NO pets are allowed on the yard
  • Children must be supervised by an adult at all times while on the yard.

Parking, Vehicle and Pedestrian access

  • Only one car per vessel on site is permitted to park on the yard at any one time.
  • All vehicles parking in the yard do so at the owners risk. Orams Marine Services and their contractors will not be held responsible for any overspray or damage to these vehicles.
  • A gate access card (one per vessel) is available from office reception. This card will allow vehicle access to the yard during business hours and also allow pedestrian access after hours. The key must be returned to office on paying final invoice otherwise a charge of $20 will apply.
  • The yard is closed to vehicle traffic between the hours of 8.00pm (9:30pm during daylight saving) and 6am, please ensure your vehicle is removed from the yard before this time. Darien Rush Security can be contacted for after hours release on 523 7500 but a cash fee of $100, payable to them, will apply.
  • Vehicle movements on the yard must be in accordance with signs and parking must be in the designated parking bays.
  • Vehicles illegally parked, in breach of the rules, obstructing traffic or pedestrian access or negatively impacting operations may be moved or towed with all associated costs being borne by the vehicle owner.

Facilities

  • Orams Wholesale Store is located in the north east corner behind the Café Materials may be charged to your vessel and will be included in your final invoice.
  • Toilets are located in the North East corner of the yard under the car ramp.

Orams Marine Services reserves the right to make any alteration or additions to these rules without notice.
